I love a good puppy chow recipe. It’s sweet, a little salty, endlessly snackable, and always a crowd-pleaser. This version tastes like a Snickers bar and adds in peanuts alongside the classic Chex cereal for a crunchy twist. It still has the makings of a classic puppy chow recipe with a gooey melted chocolate sauce and a nice coating of confectioners’ sugar. Read on for some tips for how to make it.
Mix-in ideas:
You can mix and match the ingredients for this peanut butter and chocolate-coated puppy chow however you like. Roasted peanuts add the classic Snickers taste and crunch, but other nuts, such as hazelnuts, almonds, or cashews, would all work great. Instead of caramel sauce, you could use Nutella or even creamy peanut butter to double down on nuttiness.
Serving ideas:
This sweet snack is a great party dish alongside other finger foods like pigs in a blanket, fried goat cheese bites, or any snack mix. Or serve it as an unexpected dessert!
