We’re making a few upgrades to yield especially delicious results, cutting down on prep time without sacrificing flavor. Ingredients
Cupcakes

large eggs
- 1/2 cup
(1 stick) unsalted butter, melted, cooled
- 1/4 cup
vegetable oil
- 1
(13.25-oz.) vanilla box cake mix
- 3/4 cup
whole milk

A piping bag, a 1/2" star tip
Directions
Cupcakes
- Step 1Arrange a rack in center of oven; preheat to 350°. Line 18 cups of 2 standard 12-cup muffin tins with liners.
- Step 2In a large bowl, using a handheld mixer on medium speed, beat eggs, butter, and oil until combined, about 1 minute.
- Step 3Add cake mix and beat to combine. With the motor on low speed, gradually add milk and beat, increasing speed to medium, until smooth, 1 to 2 minutes. Fill prepared cups about halfway to the top.
- Step 4Bake cupcakes until golden and tops bounce back to the touch, 20 to 24 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack and let cool.
Frosting
- Step 1In a large bowl, using handheld mixer on medium speed, beat butter until lighter in color and fluffy, 5 to 7 minutes. Add confectioners’ sugar; beat until incorporated. Add cream and vanilla; beat on low speed until smooth. Transfer frosting to piping bag fitted with star tip.
- Step 2Using a paring knife or large piping tip, remove a small section in center of cupcakes. Fill half of cupcakes with Christmas sprinkles. Fill remaining cupcakes with black sprinkles and pearls. Pipe frosting on top of cupcakes. Top with more Christmas sprinkles.
