Looking for a quick and easy appetizer to serve at your next gathering? It doesn’t get any easier than these little bundles of deliciousness. With only three ingredients, they come together pretty fast, and believe us, that’s a great thing because the sooner they’re ready to be devoured, the better. We went with chive and onion cream cheese for a bit more flavor, but if you’re not into that, feel free to swap it out with a different flavor or serve plain. As for the sausage, a regular mild pork sausage is what we’re after here, not a fennel-y Italian sausage.
Another great thing about this app is the make-ahead opportunities. The sausage can be cooked, cooled, and mixed into the cream cheese up to 2 days ahead. The bundles can be assembled up to 2 hours ahead of time. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and store in the fridge until you’re ready to bake them off.
Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Reheat in a 350° oven or microwave until warmed through.

Ingredients
- 8 oz.
regular bulk pork sausage
- 1/2 cup
chive and onion cream cheese spread
- 1
(8-oz.) can crescent rolls
Dijon mustard, for dipping (optional)
Directions
- Step 1Preheat oven to 375°. In a medium nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, cook sausage, crumbling with a wooden spoon, until cooked through, about 5 minutes. Transfer to a medium bowl and let cool slightly, about 5 minutes.
- Step 2Add cream cheese spread to sausage and stir until combined.
- Step 3Unroll dough and press into a 12" x 9" rectangle. Firmly press perforations to seal, then cut into 24 (2" x 2") squares.
- Step 4Divide sausage mixture among squares (about 1 heaping teaspoon each). Bring 4 corners together to slightly overlap in the center of each bundle. Twist and pinch to seal and arrange on an ungreased baking sheet.
- Step 5Bake bundles until golden brown, 10 to 12 minutes. Serve with mustard alongside (if using).
