Looking for a creepy Halloween cocktail? Stop here: Our classic margarita gets an eerie upgrade for the spooky holiday—your guests won't know what hit 'em. While it may look complicated, the only extra thing you need for this cocktail is food coloring. This is truly our classic margarita with a simple, creepy-cute upgrade. Here’s everything you need to know to perfect this drink for your Halloween movie marathon:
First, we’re going to create our rim. We chose some scary-fun glasses for this recipe, but you can make this recipe in any glass you please. To create the rim, rim your glasses with a lime slice, then dip them in the black sanding sugar.
Then, in a pitcher or divided in the individual glasses, add your tequila, triple sec, and lime juice. Stir to combine, then add two drops of each food coloring. Give it a stir, then add more food coloring if needed to achieve that desired color. We went with a “black magic” vibe of course, but you can really get creative here!
Once your margaritas are looking scary good, add the ice and garnish with a slice of lime before serving.
