Your steak dinner is missing something, and it’s cowboy butter. This herby garlic butter adds the perfect rich, flavorful touch to not only any steak dinner, but grilled chicken, fish, and a surprising amount of sides (I’m looking at you, cornbread). In just 10 minutes, you’ll have a game-changing addition to your weeknight dinner. Here’s what you need to know:
While it might seem like an extra step to your steak dinner, it’s so easy to create, it’s more than worth it. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, freshly squeezed lemon juice, minced garlic and shallot, mustard, horseradish, paprika, and cayenne to taste. Whisk it all together until very well combined.
After it is well combined, stir in the freshly chopped parsley, chives, and thyme, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
Once everything is stirred together, the world is your oyster! Top with chives if you prefer, then serve your cowboy butter with grilled meats, veggies...pretty much anything you can think of.
