How to make the best pigs in a blanket wreath:
Besides being shaped in a festive design, two ingredients take these pigs in a blanket from good to great: Dijon mustard and poppy seeds. We brushed our crescent roll rough with Dijon mustard for an added punch of flavor, then topped our completed pigs in a blanket with sprinkles of poppy seeds. If you’re not a fan, feel free to leave off the mustard, and swap out the poppy seeds for flaky salt (or everything bagel seasoning). 

How do I cut the crescent roll dough?
When you're cutting your crescent roll dough into thirds, cut them lengthwise. This will be the easiest way to wrap up your pigs in their blankets (i.e. crescent dough). Unsure? Follow the video above for a visual example! 

Can I make this in advance?
Absolutely! Prepare and wrap your pigs in a blanket up until creating the wreath shape, then cover tightly with plastic wrap and place in the fridge no longer than 24 hours. Once you're ready to bake, brush with the egg wash, salt and poppy seeds before placing in the oven. 

Serving ideas:
To really complete the festive wreath vibes, we added fresh sprigs of rosemary to our pigs in a blanket. If you don’t have any, it’s not necessary, but it does take this app over the top in the presentation department. 

We decided to serve this wreath with ketchup in this recipe not only because of the classic combo, but also to add some festive flair with the red and green pairing. But, your dipping options certainly don't stop there. A grainy mustard pairs perfectly with these dogs, as would ranch dressing.
