It's no secret—we love experimenting with egg roll fillings. From our Reuben egg rolls to our burrito egg rolls, we can't get enough of the crispy coating surrounding our chosen filling in these easy appetizers. In this recipe, we decided to turn one of our favorite, go-to meals—the classic cheeseburger—into a shareable, hand-held Super Bowl snack. It's basically a fried cheeseburger...need we say more? This recipe is completely customizable to your fave burger toppings, so get to filling and frying!
How to make cheeseburger egg rolls:
First, you're going to cook your ground beef before incorporating your seasonings, bacon, and cheese. After the combined mixture drains, it's time to fill your egg rolls. If you've never made egg rolls before—no stress! It's not as difficult as it may seem. Follow our video to watch the step-by-step process. The most important thing is to be gentle.
Once you've filled all of your egg rolls, it's time to fry. Fry for 2-3 minutes, until golden, then transfer to a paper-towel lined plate to soak up any extra grease. Serve with ketchup, mustard or your fave burger sauce, and get ready to dunk.
Top tips:
-Prefer turkey burgers? Swap out the ground beef for ground turkey, or ground pork if you'd prefer a more classic egg roll.
- Don't skip draining your meat mixture before filling your egg roll wrappers! Otherwise, you may get a soggy egg roll that won't crisp up, and we don't want that.
- Customize it! If you're not a bacon fan, skip it. Add in diced tomatoes and leave out the onions if you prefer. Big Mac fan? Make the special sauce to dip these babies in.
- Want to skip the frying? Make this filling with our air fryer egg rolls instead.

Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp.
vegetable oil, plus more for frying
- 1
large onion, chopped
- 2
cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lb.
ground beef
- 1 Tbsp.
ketchup, plus more serving
- 1 Tbsp.
yellow mustard, plus more for serving
- 1 Tbsp.
Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup
chopped cooked bacon
- 1 cup
shredded cheddar (I used a mix of yellow and white)
- 12
egg roll wrappers
Directions
- Step 1In a large skillet over medium heat, heat oil. Add onion and garlic and cook until soft, 6 minutes, then add beef and cook until no longer pink, 5 to 7 minutes more.
- Step 2Stir in ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce until combined.
- Step 3Add bacon and cheese and stir until cheese is melted. Transfer mixture to a paper towel-lined plate to drain fat.
- Step 4Roll egg rolls: Place the egg roll wrapper in a diagonal, and spoon 1 to 2 tablespoons of cheeseburger mixture onto the center of the roll. Rolling from the bottom, roll halfway up, then fold in sides and roll tightly (but gently!). Seal with a drop of water and set aside. Repeat until all mixture is used up.
- Step 5In a deep-sided skillet or pot, heat 2 inches of oil until bubbling. Fry egg rolls until golden, 2 to 3 minutes, then transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
- Step 6Serve with ketchup and mustard.
