I know the recipe title is a little concerning. Saltine crackers? Toffee? What is this madness! But you have to trust me on this. Salty crackers make the most unbelievable base for sweet toffee. I make a tray of this every year during the holidays, then instantly remember WHY I only make it around the holidays. Can't. Stop. Eating.
Here's a quick summary of the recipe. It's so simple and you only need six ingredients total. (Which is dangerous. And awesome.) Sweet and bubbly toffee syrup, made from just butter and brown sugar, is poured over a tray of saltine crackers. Then things get out of control. Spread creamy melted peanut butter all over top, then sprinkle with semi-sweet chocolate chips. Spread until smooth, then top with crushed M&Ms. My mouth is watering as I type this.
Think of this as a salty, sweet, and crispy peanut butter and chocolate-topped piece of toffee, but better.
