We love a good twist on a cocktail here at Delish. With our brown sugar Old Fashioned, the tiramisu White Russian, the cranberry sour, and the apple cider spritz, we've done our fair share of experimenting on the classics. Now we’re thrilled to announce a new member of the royal family of unconventional cocktails: the campfire mule.
Trust us when we tell you that this cocktail recipe is the one to have under your sleeve for any occasion during the cold seasons. Don't be fooled, though, you definitely don’t need a fire pit to enjoy this. The campfire mule can be enjoyed in the middle of the countryside, having a pleasant evening with your loved ones, or simply from your shoebox apartment (sadly I’m part of the latter group, so please let me know if you have an extra room at your weekend cabin!). This is for the ones that embody sweater weather, the ones who want to have something to drink with their friends and feel cozy-warm. Why not be that friend that people remember as “Oh, they make an amazing campfire mule!”?
Staying faithful to our queen mother, the Moscow mule, we’ve replaced the vodka with some smoked bourbon or whiskey, added some maple syrup for a touch of autumn magic, kept our lemon juice and ginger beer as our old-time residents, and included an optional roasted marshmallow to garnish (campfire → roasted marshmallow… get it? 😉).
Enjoy and stay warm, folks!
Made these mules? Let us know how it went in the comments below!
