Fact: I drink more in the summer. I know some people say this is more true of themselves during the winter, cozying up near a fire with a glass of bourbon, but not me. I'm a California girl; sun is my lifeline, and warm weather makes me want to drink al fresco—all the time—preferably out of a pineapple. Which is why when fellow Delish editor Rheanna suggested we turn other fruits into drinking vessels, shot glasses even, I freaked and then yelled, "OMG, YES."
To quench my thirst for using fruit as drinking vessels, I turned watermelon, strawberries, and cantaloupe into shot glasses. And you can, too.
STRAWBERRY SHOT GLASSES
Slice off the very tip of the strawberry (be careful not to do too much), then slice off the tops and hollow out the center. Fill with shot.
WATERMELON SHOT GLASSES
Halve watermelon, then cut thick blocks off the rind. Slice into 2" pieces and use a melon baller to scoop out a hole big enough for a shot. Fill with shot.
CANTALOUPE SHOT GLASSES
Halve cantaloupe and scoop out seeds and stringy flesh, then cut into 1" pieces. Use a melon baller to scoop out a hole big enough for a shot. Fill with shot.
