- 1/4 tsp.
ground nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp.
ground allspice
- 1/8 tsp.
ground cardamom
- 1/8 tsp.
ground cloves
- 1/2 cup
(100 g.) granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup
(70 g.) light brown sugar
- 1
large egg
- 1/2 tsp.
pure vanilla extract
Rolling & Assembly
- 2 Tbsp.
granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp.
ground cinnamon
- 3 Tbsp.
powdered sugar
Directions
Dough
- Step 1In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt Land O Lakes® Unsalted Butter. Continue to cook, whisking occasionally, until butter begins to foam, then starts to smell toasted and nutty, then browns, 7 to 8 minutes. Pour into the large bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Let cool about 5 minutes.
- Step 2Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, whisk flour, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, cream of tartar, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, cardamom, and cloves.
- Step 3Using stand mixer, beat browned butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar on medium-high speed until fluffy, 2 to 3 minutes. Add egg and vanilla and mix to combine. Slowly add dry ingredients to butter mixture, mixing just until last flour streak disappears.
- Step 4Cover bowl and refrigerate dough until cold, about 1 hour.
Rolling & Assembly
- Step 1Preheat oven to 300°. Line a baking sheet with parchment. In a small bowl, combine granulated sugar and cinnamon. Place powdered sugar in another small bowl.
- Step 2Scoop dough with a 1/4-cup cookie scoop and roll into balls. Roll each ball in cinnamon sugar mixture, followed by powdered sugar. Arrange cookies on prepared sheet, spacing 2" apart. Gently press down on each cookie.
- Step 3Bake cookies until set and crinkled, about 15 minutes; do not overbake. Let cool on sheets.
