We’ve never met a biscuit we didn’t like, but this garlic-forward cheesy version might just be #1 in our hearts. Tender and extra flaky on the inside (thanks to Land O Lakes® Salted Butter), they are perfect paired with soups and stews, made into breakfast sandwiches, or as part of the classic holiday spread. But be warned–these irresistible biscuits will steal the spotlight from even the most perfectly roasted turkey.

Ingredients
- 2 cups
all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup
whole wheat flour
- 1 Tbsp.
baking powder
- 2 tsp.
granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp.
kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp.
freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp.
garlic powder
- 1 Tbsp.
freshly chopped parsley
- 1 Tbsp.
freshly chopped dill
- 1 Tbsp.
freshly chopped chives
- 3/4 cup
(1 ½ sticks) cold Land O Lakes® Salted Butter, cubed
- 1 cup
buttermilk, cold
- 2
large eggs, divided
- 1 Tbsp.
water
Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling
Land O Lakes® Salted Butter, for serving
Directions
- Step 1In a medium bowl, whisk together the flours, baking powder, sugar, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and herbs.
- Step 2Add cubed Land O Lakes® Salted Butter to the dry ingredients and work in with your fingers until the butter pieces are the size of lentils.
- Step 3In a liquid measuring cup, whisk to combine the buttermilk and 1 egg.
- Step 4Add the buttermilk mixture to the flour mixture and mix with a spatula just until combined.
- Step 5On a lightly floured surface, with floured hands if needed, pat the dough into a rectangle about a ½" thick. Fold it in half, then in half again. Pat out into a ½" thick rectangle again and once more, in half, and in half again. Wrap well and chill in the refrigerator for half an hour.
- Step 6Preheat oven to 400°. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Step 7On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a rectangle ½" thick, fold it in half, then in half again. Pat into a rectangle that is 1" thick.
- Step 8Using a bench scraper, straighten the sides of the dough and cut into 6 squares. Transfer the squares to the prepared tray. If the dough feels too warm or sticky, place the tray in the freezer for 15 minutes before continuing.
- Step 9Make the egg wash: Whisk together the remaining egg and 1 tbsp. water in a small bowl. Brush the tops of the biscuits with the egg wash and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
- Step 10Bake for 20 to 23 minutes, until lightly brown, and serve with more Land O Lakes® Salted Butter.
