How To Make Air Fryer French Fries
Ingredients
• Russet Potatoes: While Yukon Gold also works, I prefer Russet potatoes in this recipe. They crisp up nicely, but will still have a buttery interior.
• Olive Oil: The best part about an air fryer recipe? You use way less oil. Use your favorite extra-virgin brand, or checkout this taste test of the best olive oils.
• Kosher Salt: In the Delish Kitchen, we always use kosher salt. If you love extra-salty fries, feel free to up the amount here.
Step-By-Step Instructions
After cutting up your potatoes into 1/4"-thick fries, add them to a bowl, then toss with your olive oil and salt.
Next, add them to your air fryer in a single layer. Air fryer baskets vary in sizes, so you may need to do this in a few batches. Don't overcrowd your basket to try and fit them all in—this will prevent your fries from crisping up. Once you've finished all your batches, just pop them all back in the air fryer for a minute or two to reheat and crisp before serving.
Once your fries are all perfectly crisp, transfer them to a wire rack set over a paper towel-lined baking sheet to let any excess oil drip away. Now, it's time for the finishing touches. Add more salt and any fresh herbs you please, then serve alongside ketchup (or any of your favorite dipping sauces).
Storage
French fries are best enjoyed the day they are made, but if you have any extras, store in the fridge and reheat in the air fryer.
