Ingredients
- 1 cup wild rice
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Directions
- Step 1In a sieve, wash 1 cup wild rice under cold running water until starch dissipates and water runs clear. In a large, heavy pot over medium-high heat, bring rice, 2 cups water, and 1/2 teaspoon salt to a simmer.
- Step 2Cover the pot, reduce heat to low, and cook until water is absorbed and grains are tender and curled into a "C" shape, 20 to 25 minutes. (As a rule, the paler the rice, the shorter the cooking time.)
