This butter cookie variation can brighten any holiday tray.

Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp. almond extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
Directions
- Step 1Make dough: Beat butter, sugar, and salt with a mixer on medium speed until creamy, about 2 minutes. Beat in egg and extracts. On low speed, gradually beat in flour until a soft dough forms.
- Step 2Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Have ungreased baking sheets ready.
- Step 3Bake dough for cookies shaped with a press by filling press with dough according to manufacturer's instructions and place cookie-forming plate on end of press. Press cookies directly onto baking sheets, spaced 1 1/2 inches apart. Bake 10 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned. Cool 1 minute on baking sheets; then transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
