Caramel Pumpkin Spice Cereal Treats

As we enter the season of pumpkin-spice everything, it’s only appropriate to give the classic cereal treat the full fall treatment. The best part? Not only are the pumpkin spice cereal treats made with Werther’s® Original® Soft Caramels—they’ re also topped with a caramel drizzle. Drooling? Same.

Ingredients
For the treats
Cooking spray
- 20
Werther’s® Original® Soft Caramels, unwrapped
- 1/2 cup
(1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1
(12 oz.) bag mini marshmallows
- 3/4 tsp.
pumpkin spice mix
- 1/4 tsp.
kosher salt
- 10 cups
rice cereal
for the drizzle
- 20
Werther's® Original® Soft Caramels, unwrapped
- 1/2 tsp.
half and half
- 1/4 cup
semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 tsp.
coconut oil
Sprinkles, for serving
Directions
- Step 1Spray a 9 X 13” baking dish with cooking spray.
- Step 2In large pot melt the caramels, butter and marshmallows over medium heat. Stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
- Step 3Stir the pumpkin spice and salt into the marshmallow-caramel mixture. Add the rice cereal and fold until well coated. Press mixture gently and evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- Step 4Make the drizzle: In a small microwave safe bowl, combine the caramels and the half and half. Microwave until melted, about 30 seconds. Stir to fully combine.
- Step 5In another small microwave safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave until melted, about 30 seconds. Stir to fully combine.
- Step 6Drizzle caramel over treats, then drizzle chocolate, and scatter sprinkles over top. Cool completely. Cut treats into bars and serve.
