Ingredients
- 1 lb.
ground beef
- 1/4 cup
tomato paste
- 1 Tbsp.
yellow mustard
- 2 tsp.
brown sugar
- 2 tsp.
Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp.
chili powder
- 1 tsp.
garlic powder
- 1 tsp.
onion powder
kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup
water
Grilled hot dogs, for serving
Hot dog buns, for serving
Shredded cheddar, for serving
Chopped white onion, for serving
Directions
- Step 1 Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook, breaking up meat with a wooden spoon, until no longer pink, 6 minutes. Drain fat and return to heat.
- Step 2Add tomato paste and cook until slightly darkened in color, 2 minutes. Add mustard, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, garlic powder, and onion powder and season with salt and pepper. Stir to combine, then add water and bring to a simmer. Cook until all water is evaporated, 5 minutes.
- Step 3Serve over hot dogs, then top with cheddar and onions.
