It's really hard to improve upon a crispy, melty mozzarella stick...unless, of course, you add ranch seasoning. We're honestly a little mad that we didn't think of this recipe sooner. It's TOO good.

Ingredients

  • 6

    skim mozzarella sticks

  • 1 cup

    panko bread crumbs

  • 1 Tbsp.

    extra-virgin olive oil

  • 1 Tbsp.

Hidden Valley Ranch Seasoning & Salad Dressing Mix

  • 2

    large eggs, well beaten

  • 3 Tbsp.

    all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup

    warm marinara

  • 1/4 cup

    Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing

Directions

    1. Step 1Freeze mozzarella sticks until frozen solid, at least 2 hours.
    2. Step 2Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350°. On a small rimmed baking sheet, toss the panko with the oil, breaking up some of the panko with your hands to a finer texture. Bake, stirring halfway through, until lightly golden, about 12 minutes. Turn off oven and let panko cool.
    3. Step 3When ready to bread, preheat the oven to 400°. Set up a breading station: In a shallow bowl, whisk together cooled panko and ranch seasoning; in another bowl, add eggs; and in another bowl, add flour.
    4. Step 4Coat frozen mozzarella sticks in flour, then dip in egg, then panko, repeat with egg, and repeat with panko. Arrange on a baking sheet.
    5. Step 5Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, watching carefully so the cheese doesn’t ooze. Serve with warm marinara sauce and ranch dressing for dipping.
