Oreo Cookie Balls

Do I have to freeze these?
A common issue with Oreo cookie balls is having them crack apart. Our solution is multiple rounds in the freezer, once before they are covered in chocolate and once after. This guarantees they hold together, only cracking apart once you take a bite, so don’t skip it!

How can I change these up?
Oreo lovers know that the flavor options the beloved sandwich cookies come in are nearly endless, and all of them can be used to make these cookie balls. Classic flavors like mint or peanut butter would be great, but feel free to try whatever wild flavors you can find. Similarly, we used semisweet chocolate chips to cover these, but any melted chocolate or candy melts should work too, adding even more options for making these stand out. Finally, we like the simplicity of using crushed Oreos to top these, but you can feel free to get creative—crushed peppermints, sprinkles, nuts, cocoa powder…the sky’s the limit.

Storage:
Because these contain cream cheese, they do need to be refrigerated if you’re storing them long term. They’ll keep for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container (if they last that long!)—store them between parchment or wax paper so they don't stick together.
