It doesn't get more classic than fondue. Whether you're serving it up as an easy appetizer or as the cherry on top dessert to your dinner party spread, it's a simple but effective dip perfect for sweet and savory pairings. Our homemade chocolate fondue recipe takes less than 30 minutes to prepare and works with so many dippers, making it an ideal last-minute addition to your menu. Plus, we used two kinds of chocolate to make this extra rich...it's truly unforgettable.
What chocolate should I use for chocolate fondue?
For our fondue, we melted down chocolate chips into our heated, creamy mixture. For a rich, extra-chocolatey combo, we used two different types of chocolate: semi-sweet and milk chocolate. But, if you're not a milk chocolate fan, feel free to add some dark into the mix, or go full semi-sweet.
What dippers should I serve with chocolate fondue?
Almost anything is delicious when dipped into this sweet melted chocolate. Fresh fruit like bananas, green apples, strawberries and blueberries are classic pairings, while marshmallows and graham crackers are a fun, s'mores-like take on the classic. If you can't get enough of the salty + sweet combo, set out some pretzel rods for bites of chocolatey, salty goodness.
What should I serve with this?
Serve this as a Christmas party app alongside your cranberry brie bites and bacon-wrapped dates for an extra-fancy start to your dinner. If you want to dip the night away, pair this with our cheese fondue for maximum dipping and sweet and savory combos.
