How To Make Mistletoe Margaritas
INGREDIENTS
- Cranberries: I create sugared cranberries with fresh lime juice and sugar—they’re so easy to make, and add the most adorable garnish.
- Lime: Fresh lime juice is used in multiple ways here: in our cocktail, on the sugared cranberries, and on the rim.
- Sugar & Salt: I like to create a sugar and salt rim for these margaritas, but if you’re all about the sugar, you can skip the salt.
- Cranberry Juice: This is what adds that holiday flair to our cocktail. If you prefer a sweeter drink, go for a cranberry juice cocktail instead.
- Silver Tequila: Use your favorite silver tequila, or consult our list of the best tequila brands.
- Triple Sec: I use simple & reliable triple sec in these margaritas, but if you have a preferred Cointreau you’d like to use, feel free to swap it out!
- Ice: Adjust the amount of ice based on how frozen you like your margarita. If you want it on the rocks, skip blending with the ice.
- Mint: Some fresh mint really completes the holiday and mistletoe vibes, but you can skip it if you don’t have any.
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
First, we’ll create our sugared cranberries by squeezing fresh lime juice over the cranberries. Then, drain the extra lime juice, and add on the granulated sugar. Toss to coat them well, then add to a baking sheet to dry.
Then, we’ll create our rim by combining sugar and salt on a shallow plate. Then, use a lime wedge to coat the rim of each glass, then dip in the sugar-salt mixture.
Now, our cocktail is as easy as combining all of our ingredients in a blender, and blending! Depending on the size of your blender, keep in mind that you may want to blend in batches. Blend with the ice until your mixture is smooth.
Once the texture is to your liking, pour into your glasses, then garish with a sprig of mint and your prepared sugared cranberries.

If you prefer your margaritas on the rocks, feel free to skip the blender step. And if you're not much of a cranberry fan, I highly suggest you consider our "White Christmas Margaritas" instead.
