With two spooky layers—one purple and one black—these shots are perfect for your next Halloween party. Like most Jell-O shot recipes, they're easy to make, but to pull off the two-layer effect, you need to give each layer plenty of time to firm up. Once you pour in the purple Jell-O mixture, you'll let them set at least 2 hours in the fridge before you pour over the black Jell-O mixture and let them set another 2 hours. (So time is your friend here! These are not a last-minute option for your Halloween bash.)
To make sure the purple layer is set before you add your black layer, give it a test: Slowly turn one of the shot glasses upside down—if the Jell-O stays put, you're good to go! If it's still pretty jiggly, give it another 30 minutes.
