If you’re looking for a Thanksgiving cocktail that will keep your guests going back for just one more glass, then this apple cider sangria is the recipe you should reach for. We can’t get enough of apple cider cocktails in the fall, and this sangria recipe is no exception. We give the classic summer drink a fall twist by adding in sparkling apple cider (of course), white wine, and fireball. Our apple cider sangria is a fan-favorite, but this bubbly version feels a bit fancier, making it worthy of your holiday dinner.
The best white wine to use:
We suggest following the same rule we use for our white sangria: Since we are adding a lot of other components to this drink, we like to keep the white wine dry and high in acidity. Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Verdejo or a dry Riesling would all work great here. If you do prefer more of a sweet white wine, check out our list of our top-rated white wine brands for our recommendations, from sweet to dry.
Variations:
We think this cocktail is perfect as-is, but feel free to experiment as you please! Swap out the Fireball for one of these cinnamon whiskeys, or one of our favorite whiskey brands if you’re in the mood for a stronger sangria. Add in some sliced oranges if you want to up the fruit, and some star anise to go with the spiced cinnamon sticks.
Batch it:
This drink makes 5 servings, but if you’re serving a big crowd, feel free to double the recipe. Serve it in an extra-large pitcher or in a punch bowl glass, à la our harvest punch.
