Ingredients
For the meatballs
- 1 lb. ground chicken
- 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup chopped chives, divided
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- Kosher salt
- Pinch cayenne pepper
- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil, for frying
For sauce
- 1/2 cup hot sauce (such as Frank's)
- 1/4 cup lightly packed brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
- Kosher salt
- Red pepper flakes
Directions
- Step 1Form meatballs: In a large bowl, mix together ground chicken, panko bread crumbs, 2 tablespoons chives, garlic, and egg. Season mixture with salt and pepper, then form into small balls about the size of golf balls.
- Step 2Make sauce: In a medium bowl, whisk together hot sauce, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar. Season with salt and red pepper flakes.
- Step 3In a large skillet over medium heat, heat vegetable oil. Add meatballs in a single layer and cook until seared all over, 3 to 4 minutes per side. Add sauce and bring to simmer. Simmer until sauce has thickened slightly and meatballs are cooked through, about 10 minutes.
- Step 4Garnish with remaining 2 tablespoons chives and serve warm.
