Finding healthy on-the-go snacks can be a challenge, but
lucky for us there's a new wave of nutritional bars out there that are better
tasting and better for you. These bars got some makeovers that are worth knowing about.
Have you had your FiberLove today? Eating enough fiber
can be a tough feat, especially when it's one of those health requirements that
isn't always at the top of your radar. But fiber is essential to digestive
health. Even when you're eating well (which definitely isn't all the time)
you can probably still use a little help in the tummy department. Enter FiberLove.
FiberLove bars hail from Gnu Foods, which you may remember from its Flavor
& Fiber bars. After years of gathering feedback from customers, Gnu Foods decided to
revamp its fiber focus and come up with bars that are even better. Thus,
FiberLove was born. Now the company's whole line of bars is completely
GMO-free and still contains a whopping 48% of your daily fiber (that's 12 grams!) in
a bar that only has between 130 and 160 calories. And the best part? With
its FiberLove makeover, Gnu Foods also added a new bar to its family of
flavors that gets its inspiration from the classic and irresistible peanut and chocolate flavor combination: Peanut Chocolate Chip.
"We set out to create the best, most delicious
combination of peanuts and chocolate that we could, with roughly half the daily
recommended fiber to boot. The result is amazing," said Gnu Foods
founder, Andrew Brooks, in a press release. " FiberLove bars are also
available in these seven other dessert-inspired flavors: Banana
Walnut, Blondie Bar, Blueberry Cobbler, Carrot Cake, Chocolate Brownie,
Cinnamon Raisin, and Orange Cranberry.
KIND:
This company makes an array of snacks, and you can pretty much see all of the ingredients you are eating right
there in the bar. Now you can eat the recently launched KIND Healthy Grains
Bars, which, on top of everything else, are gluten free, non-GMO, and each one
contains more than a serving's worth of whole grains. These new bars — they stand out because they are wider than the traditional KIND products — come in
Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate, Vanilla Blueberry, Dark Chocolate Chunk, Maple
Pumpkin Seeds, and Oats & Honey. KIND describes them as, "all natural
granola bars that are made from ingredients you can see and pronounce."
This makeover isn't quite so recent, but you still may not know about this other line of CLIF bars. A couple of years ago, Clif Bar quietly released its Kit's
Organic snack bars, a line that features 100% organic ingredients. Each
bar contains just 4 to 7 ingredients and is gluten-free, soy-free, and dairy-free.
They come in four flavors: Berry Almond, Cashew, Chocolate Almond
Coconut, and Peanut Butter. The line's namesake, Kit, is actually one of the
co-owners of CLIF. According to CLIF Bar, "Kit's Organic Fruit + Nut Bar is a
delightful celebration of just how delicious simple can be."
