Sure, we love a frosty, frothy glass of Guinness with a bowl of Irish stew on St. Patrick's Day, but there's no need to stop there. Think beyond the pint glass this year with all of our all-time favorite Guinness recipes. Why not add some of your favorite brew into your next batch of brownies, beer bread, or loaded nachos? Best of all, every single one these sweet and savory Guinness recipes will pair perfectly with your pint, naturally. 😉

This year, do yourself a massive favor and pour a little of your Guinness out and into your desserts, especially the chocolate ones. We're not sure exactly how Guinness and chocolate became such an incredible combo, but we're certainly not mad about it. If you've yet to try this iconic duo, you'll want to bake up our recipes for Guinness chocolate cake and Guinness brownies ASAP. Want something on the colder side? Our Baileys Irish floats are the perfect marriage between a pint and dessert.

Guinness certainly brings a whole new dimension to desserts, but it also adds a special something to our favorite savory snacks and entrées. Exhibit A: beer cheese. You might be used to adding lagers, pilsners, and IPAs to your go-to beer cheese recipe, but a malty, smooth Guinness will take it to a whole other level. Once you've got your beer cheese made, there's no limit to what dishes you can add it to (like beer cheese mac & cheese, beer cheese sliders, beer cheese brats...), so you can really go wild!

PARKER FEIERBACH

Traditionally, an Irish stew (aka Guinness Stew) is made with lamb, which you can totally do, but we think this beefy version is just as comforting and delicious. And how about an Irish coffee to cap the meal?

Don’t overlook the humble cabbage! It’s a natural flavor absorber that pairs well with punchy, intense ingredients (think kimchi), but we also think it can stand up and shine all on its own.

Beer Bread

The beer pulls double-duty here, serving both as a boost to the leaveners and the flavor of the bread. The beer you use will affect the taste, so like any ingredient, use something you love. Porters or a stout like Guinness will give it a chocolate-y, malty vibe that we really dig.

Though we’re all for a good sandwich or flatbread, oftentimes it’s actually just the tasty fillings we’re after. That’s why we’ve taken tons of our favorite classics—think Philly cheesesteaks or Buffalo chicken wraps—and turned them into lettuce wraps using everything from collards to romaine. Next up, these simple cabbage-wrapped beer brats.

This soup is epically creamy thanks to three—yes, really, THREE—cups of cheddar. Though it's not a dip, we recommend dunking some homemade soft pretzels or our soft pretzel bites in here too.

Grilled Beer Brats

It takes almost zero cooking skills (you do have to know how to turn the grill on) to get perfectly charred brats topped with flavor-packed caramelized onions and peppers. First, the brats get burnish on the grill, then they finish off in a simmering beer bath alongside the veg. That's IT.

We took the classic dip up a notch by surrounding it in a ring of the staple pairing: pretzeled biscuits. The creamy dip and the pretzel ring bake together, making this two-in-one party party snack almost too easy to bake and share.

You won't believe how ridiculously easy these next-level sliders are to make. We used a riff on Pioneer Woman's Guinness-braised cabbage technique to take these sliders to the next level, and we'll never go back to the old way again, that's for sure.
