I can't look at this cookie dough ball without hearing Lil' Wayne chime into my ear, "Bling bling, every time I come around yo city, bling bling." Because if you want to bling out on New Year's Eve with a special dessert, it has got to be this: a cookie dough ball (kinda like a dessert cheese ball) covered in shimmery sprinkles.

To make the cookie dough ball, you whip up a super-simple mixture similar to my cookie dough dip, which is basically a cookie dough with cream cheese, NO FLOUR. You get the cookie dough flavors from brown sugar and vanilla, but it's a perfectly gooey consistency for a dessert. You roll that into a ball (it's a little hard at first, but firm it up in the fridge for at least an hour and then it's easier) and then let it get pretty firm, about 3 hours.

Now comes the bling bling part of the process: Once it's firm enough to serve, remove from the fridge and place on your serving platter. Mix the sprinkles you want to use. I initially thought a mix of hot pink, black, and gold would look festive, but I ended up hating the combo. So I scraped it off and tried again with a fun mix of rainbow sanding sugar and different silver sanding sugars and sprinkles. Pat them on as best you can—there's cookie dough under there, doesn't have to be perfect! Serve with Nilla Wafers or something salty like pretzels. Time to ball out!
