There are a number of food matches that were made in culinary heaven—peanut butter and jelly, macaroni and cheese, milk and cereal. We'd like to nominate a new pair to the all-time greats: the cheeseburger quesadilla.
This blissful union of two classics is so easy to conquer. The best news is there's no need for charcoal, so you can be serving this take on cheeseburgers rain or shine, all year long.
All you need to start is a skillet. Cook the diced onions in olive oil to add a base of flavor (and to make your kitchen smell delish AF). Season the ground beef with salt and pepper, cook until it's brown, and then drain. Stirring in the ketchup, mustard, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce adorns the meat with hints of the classic condiments that make a burger ... well a burger. But instead of lathering up some buns with butter, take a tortilla and lay it into a buttered skillet. Fill half of the tortilla with the hamburger beef and then bury it under a pile of shredded cheddar. Fold the other half of the tortilla over and let it cook, flipping once, until the cheese is melted and the tortilla is crispy.
Biting into a cheeseburger is good. But you will be riding off into the sunset with your taste buds after one bite of the cheeseburger quesadilla.
