Welcome to Thirsty Thursday! Each week, our columnist Natalie Migliarini of Beautiful Booze brings you fun, festive ways to, well, booze.

Do you love apple pie so much you're on the hunt for more ways to consume it (perhaps without all those calories)? Same with me, which is why I wanted a way to sip it. I went ahead and infused bourbon with all the flavors that make apple pie so damn delicious (think apples and warming spices) as a little DIY project. The results are so brilliant and the process so simple, everyone who is more than ready for apple pie season should try this.

Infusing booze might seem fancy—but it's far from it. All you do is fill a mason jar with your ingredients—in this case bourbon, chopped apples, sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, and ginger—and let the mixture sit for a couple of days. (You can infuse the bourbon for up to four days if you taste it and want even more flavor.) Then you strain the bourbon and use it for sipping, like in these Apple Pie Bourbon Shots, or making any number of fall cocktails. Enjoy!
