A crepe cake is one of those desserts that you are immediately impressed by and then inevitably wonder who the hell had time to make one. They consist of at least 20 (sometimes twice that) delicate crepes, each separated by pastry cream, chocolate, caramel, or any other type of delicious filling. To get around slaving over a skillet and perfecting the French paper-thin pancake, I turned to one of the most versatile ingredients most of us already have in the pantry: the tortilla.
All this cake requires is about 10 minutes of sautéing flour tortillas in butter, then sprinkling them with sugar and layering with Nutella. A final drizzle of chocolate sauce goes over the whole thing for a little wow factor. It's obnoxiously dramatic in its presentation—and your guests will swear they never thought the humble tortilla could look so fancy.
