Alejandro Valdes Lora

As the Test Kitchen Manager for Delish, Alejandro manages the operations and organization of Delish Kitchen Studios. This includes sourcing ingredients for photo and video shoots and testing, tasting, and prepping recipes that will be published on-site, in print, and across Delish’s social media channels. He also develops recipes and hosts recipe videos like our killer easy lasagna!  As a child, he fell in love with baking and had his own secret cupcake business in elementary school. While he spent many years in dancing school and theater, he then realized that he loved cooking way too much and decided to pursue it full time. He traveled for many years, working in great kitchens around the world with different backgrounds and ingredients. He is now settled in New York. 

Expertise: Grilling, homemade pasta, baking, fine dining, and any drink that’ll make you feel italian.  

Education: Culinary school graduate with over 2 1/2 years of restaurant cooking experience in Michelin star restaurants in Buenos Aires, Hong Kong and New York.
