I’ve never met a chocolate-covered strawberry I didn’t like (nay love), and these festive reindeer berry snacks are no exception. With pretzel antlers, a red M&M for a nose, and chocolate chip ears, these easy-to-make berries just might be the cutest Christmas snack I’ve ever laid eyes on (er, candy eyes).
When it comes to strawberries, I found that medium-sized berries make for great reindeer. And don’t forget to thoroughly dry the berries after washing them—melted chocolate and water don’t exactly get along. As for serving, these are best served at room temperature the same day they’re made. If you have leftovers, store them in a paper towel-lined airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Serve these reindeer berry snacks as a kid-friendly option at your next holiday gathering, or better yet, make it a fun activity and let the kids pitch in and help. I might even recommend leaving these out for Santa in lieu of Christmas cookies this year. Chances are that’ll land you on the nice-list for life.
If you think these reindeer berries are fun and festive, you’ve got to try these Christmas tree cookies and Christmas tree brownies!

Ingredients
- 1 cup
small pretzel twists
- 1 lb.
fresh strawberries, washed, well dried, leaves removed
- 1 1/2 cups
(255 g.) plus 2 Tbsp. semisweet chocolate chips, divided
- 1 1/4 tsp.
(or more) coconut oil
- 40
to 50 candy eyeballs
- 20
to 25 red M&M's
Equipment Needed
Long toothpicks or wooden skewers
Directions
- Step 1Carefully break pretzels into pieces so they look like reindeer antlers. Gently push 2 pretzel pieces into opposite sides of thicker end of each berry.
- Step 2In a small heatproof bowl, microwave chips and oil in 20-second increments, stirring between each, until melted and smooth, about 1 minute total.
- Step 3Stick a long toothpick into top of one berry. (The toothpick holds better when placed in the very center where the stem used to be.) Dip berry into melted chocolate, coating top and around the antlers with a spoon. Arrange on a large parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Step 4Decorate with 2 candy eyes and 1 red M&M nose. Repeat with remaining berries. If chocolate becomes too thick, stir in 1/8 tsp. more oil and microwave until warmed, about 10 seconds.
- Step 5Let berries sit at room temperature until chocolate is firm, 30 to 60 minutes.
